ABOUT ME

I am a Colombian sound designer with a very strong interest in video games and it´s connection with audio. Since being a child and spending many hours playing super Nintendo and Playstation, my interest into the collective parts to making a video game, most specifically in relation to sound, spurred my desire to undergo a Sound Engineering degree in Colombia at San Buenaventura Univesity.

I got a job as a Junior Sound Designer before I finish the undergrad, and had the opportunity to work in the film industry in Colombia having specialized in some movies from the U.S.A, Cuba, Mexico and Costa Rica. Some of these movies have received important awards in the most important film festival around the world like Sundance film festival, Montreal film festival and Ventana Sur film festival, but as I say I have a deeper desire to learn how I can do the same in video games.

I was greatly interested in researching how to incorporate my Sound Engineering skills with video games (especially the up and coming virtual reality element) driven by my enthusiasm to work in virtual reality, the desire to know more about engines used to integrate audio in video games as well as studying something In which I have such a great interest in and having the opportunity to put my learnings into practice pushed me to do the MSc on Sound and music for interactive games at Leeds Beckett University in the U.K.

I enjoy working and learning with the team and I think this is mutually beneficial having experience working in teams and this would be an asset, I believe the sound design is a collaborative art and I want to improve and share my team skills.
